Jacob + Molly // San Fransisco Proposal

[WARNING: this is a very long blog post.]

Jacob emailed me a few weeks before my trip out West with a great idea- he would propose to his girlfriend, Molly, and then we could take some really killer pictures on the coast. We had been communicating for a few weeks and had all the details ready to go.  Mary Hayden and I  would fly from LA to San Fransisco, check into our hotel, decompress for a little bit and then go meet up with Jake to walk through the proposal before Molly got to the location.

-- THAT IS NOT WHAT ENDED UP HAPPENING. --

MH and I got to LAX that morning to catch our flight at 11:15 and were so excited to be on our way to our next city when our whole flight gets cancelled about five minutes after we were supposed to be in the air. So, we mad-dash to the counter and get the ACTUAL LAST TWO SEATS on the next flight to San Fransisco, which was going to put us on the ground in SF about half an hour before Jake was supposed to be proposing. I think I spent the next two hours praying that our new flight would take off on time. I spent a few minutes texting with Jake and we figured out that if we took off on time and went straight to the proposal spot, we should make it there with a few minutes to spare and wouldn't have to reschedule anything.

Guys, the Lord is good, our flight took off and we made it to the proposal 8 minutes before it was supposed to be happening. Molly was inside the Legion of Honor museum with a friend and Jake was there to surprise her on her way out. We threw our bags in Jake's car, picked our spot and Molly walked out a few minutes later, obviously saying yes to her man and I honestly feel so blessed that I got to capture those moments for them.

After she had the ring on her finger we hopped in the car and went to the Sutro Baths to run around until the sun went down. These two love easier than almost any couple I've had in front of my camera and I find myself scrolling back through these pictures weekly because I still can't believe they actually happened. I am SO excited to be heading back to California in August to photograph their wedding day and I have absolutely no doubts that it will be the most joyful day for these sweet humans.

// Molly + Jake, thanks for embracing this random East Coast photographer and inviting me into your love story. You both are so dear and I can't wait for August 18!
